  Yamaha, the only digital keyboard manufacturer that also makes acoustic pianos, is renowned for great keyboard sounds at all price points. Replacing the PSR-S500, the new PSR-S550B features 774 instrument Voices, 22 drum kits, and 176 song and genre Styles. Styles are expandable with Yamaha's Style Engine and Style Creator function.
  
  In addition to its realistic voices and the ability to display notation and lyrics, the new model also features 64-note polyphony, cool Dance Styles, high-quality sound with DSP effects, a style engine with style creator function, and full style control with four sections and three introductions and endings. It also includes transpose and octave buttons.

The Yamaha PSR-S550B boasts incredible new sounds, including full XG support and a bunch of Ethnic voices and drum kits. In all, you get 774 different voices and 22 drum kits, to develop intricate songs and arrangements - whatever style of music you're drawn to create.

While the PSR-S550B's tremendous sound bank certainly stands by itself, you've got even more power in your sonic armory! Just dial in your perfect, custom sound using the 36 onboard reverbs, 45 onboard choruses, and 239 DSP effects.

16-track sequencer and USB connection
When it's time to lay down your ideas and get arranging, you've got plenty of room to take charge. The Yamaha PSR-S550B sports a 16-track/5-song sequencer, so you've got all the tools you need from start to finish: get creative with tons of voices, tweak your sound with the effects, then track it all out. There's even a USB connection so you can store your MIDI sequences, then load them into your computer for further editing. Or, use your PSR-S550B as a great-feeling MIDI controller for playing virtual instruments into your DAW!

Built-in speakers
There's no need to hook up speakers when you want to get creative with the PSR-S550B, though a headphone output's onboard for working anytime, anywhere. Onboard, you've got two 12W speakers with stylish white speaker cones, for great sound and even great looks.

A wealth of styles and a Style Creator function
Want backing tracks or just great rhythms to launch yourself into a new song idea? The PSR-S550B puts you in touch with 176 styles, including new dance styles. In fact, the PSR-S500's Style Engine is similar to the top-of-this-line PSR-S700. Each style has three intros and endings as well as four variations and fill-ins. What's more, you can even create your own custom sounds using the easy Style Creator Function. Whatever you do, there are four One Touch Settings onboard and dedicated Voice and Style category buttons, so it's easy to get to just what you're looking for.
