GRAND FEEL COMPACT MECHANISM WITH PRESSURE POINT AND WOODEN KEYBOARD WITH IVORY TOUCH SURFACE

The CA401 model is equipped with the new Grand Feel Compact mechanism with wooden keys, which - thanks to Kawai's 95 years of experience in piano making - enables an exceptionally realistic playing experience. All 88 keys are made entirely of long wooden parts, with the white keys being provided with Ivory Touch pads to optimize game control.
Each of the 88 keys moves gently on a balance beam, as is known from an acoustic grand piano. Thanks to the long keys (especially the length from the front edge of the key to the balance pin), the game in the rear area of ​​the keys is made easier. The Grand Feel Compact keyboard mechanism has graduated weighted hammers, counterweights in the bass range and a pressure point simulation. In addition, the triple sensor system ensures optimal repetition and game control.

IMPRESSIVE RECORDINGS OF THE SHIGERU KAWAI EX AND KAWAI EX CONCERT GRAND WITH 88 KEY SAMPLING

The CA401 digital piano reproduces the excellent sound of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand. The world-renowned Shigeru Kawai models are valued for their tonal clarity and can always be found on the stages of concert halls and music institutions. In addition, the CA401 digital piano also includes the special sound of the Kawai EX concert grand piano, which - along with other grand pianos - is often selected internationally by professional pianists for events such as the Chopin, Tchaikovsky or the Rubinstein piano competition.
All 88 keys of these two exceptional wing models have been painstakingly recorded and analyzed. The unique characteristics of each note and the large dynamic range of sounds enable the pianist to express his emotional playing ... from soft pianissimo to powerful fortissimo.

OLED DISPLAY WITH EASY OPERATION

The very easy-to-read OLED display simplifies operation. All functions can be accessed via the redesigned control panel and the OLED display. Operation via the keyboard is not necessary.

OTHER EQUIPMENT

The powerful lesson function in the CA401 supports the upcoming pianists in learning to play the piano through an integrated collection for piano lessons of typical studies by Czerny, Burgmüller  or Beyer as well as the well-known Alfred Piano courses. Each exercise title can be played at a variable tempo and individually reproduced with the left or right hand before it is recorded together with your own game for self-control. There is also a four-hand mode , which allows teachers and students to play at the same octave.

An intuitive recording function can be found in all models of the CA series. The recorder in the CA401 has a maximum recording capacity of approximately 10,000 notes. Up to 3 songs can be recorded.

SHS HEADPHONE SYSTEM

Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) is a special feature of the new CA401, which gives the acoustic piano sound through headphones more spatial depth and also improves the listening experience over a longer period of time.

SOUND SYSTEM WITH PREMIUM TECHNOLOGY

By using  Premium Audio Technology, the sound system of the CA401 is even clearer and more powerful than its predecessor. Distortion-free signal paths with maximum dynamics offer high resolution and pure sound.

BLUETOOTH MIDI

In addition to the USB-to-host connection and the MIDI connections, the CA401 is also equipped with Bluetooth MIDI technology, which enables wireless communication with smart devices (e.g. smartphone or tablet). This gives you the opportunity to conveniently use a large selection of music-related apps in conjunction with your CA401 digital piano.

ADJUSTABLE MUSIC STAND

The inclination of the music stand can be changed - as with a concert grand - to adapt it to the player position. If necessary, the music stand of the CA series can also be placed completely horizontally.

GRAND FEEL PEDAL SYSTEM

The CA401 is equipped with the Grand Feel Pedal System . In this system developed by Kawai, the resistance when operating the three pedals (Sustain, Soft and Sostenuto) corresponds to the pedal playing feel of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand. Attention was also paid to the correct positioning of the pedals.
